Hi, I’m Dora, a Shanghai-based family photographer. 

Hi There! 

I’m Dora, a family photographer based in Shanghai. 

I graduated from a top university in China, and once lived briefly in New Zealand. I got into photography during my college years and fell in love with “street photography”. On weekends, I would take my Ricoh and film cameras and wander around the streets with my friends. 

During that time, I found that I really liked taking pictures of people, liked capturing a person’s genuine emotions, recording their real moments, and became addicted to it. Later, among the tens of thousands of photos I took during my travels both in China and abroad, I realized that my favorite images were not about landscape, but always about people, real and natural people.

Several years ago, as all my friends around me got married and had children, I, who liked capturing people, began to frequently point my camera at the families of my friends nearby. I found that I was always deeply touched by the spontaneous and profound love conveyed among family members during the process of photographing “home”. 

With this touch, I have photographed hundreds of families one after another — from friends to clients who came to me gradually. I have received a lot of positive feedback during the shooting process, and I have gradually become certain that family photography is a career that I love and can engage in for my whole life.

For me, photography is not just about creating images; it’s about preserving emotions. I want you to feel the same emotions every time you look at these photos, to be transported back to that moment — the warmth of a hug, the tenderness in a glance, the stillness in the air. These photos aren’t just pictures on a wall or pages in an album; they are a reflection of your life, love, and story. I hope they bring back more than just memories — but the feelings of love, happiness, and tenderness.
