A Cat Family’s Second Anniversary — Shanghai Family Photographer Park Session

When I first photographed this family last year, Princess Nori was still a tiny kitten — wide-eyed, cradled carefully in her parents' arms.

Now she’s just turned one. The name “Princess Nori” isn’t just for fun — she genuinely lives like royalty. She has her own stroller. She gets carried everywhere. When they passed a flower bed, she was wheeled right up to the blooms so she could have a proper look.

For their second wedding anniversary, there was no grand plan. They brought a balloon shaped like the number “2,” tucked the cat into her stroller, and took a slow walk through the park together.

This is a quiet family. Not the loud, expressive type. Love shows up in small ways — a hand resting on a shoulder, the way they lean together looking at the water, the way both of them instinctively check on the cat. He was a bit shy with the camera at first. Princess Nori is slow to warm up too, content to stay tucked in her mother’s arms for most of the afternoon.

But there’s something deeply comfortable about the way they move together. No poses, no performance. Just two people and their cat, walking at their own pace.

This is their version of an anniversary tradition: not a party, not a grand gesture — just showing up, year after year, and taking a walk together. With the cat, of course. Always with the cat.
