One Year Old and Seventy Years Old

This mom has settled down in Germany. During this trip back to Shanghai, I took some family photos for them. The baby is one year old, and the grandparents are already in their seventies—they absolutely adore their little grandson.

When the dad sees the grandpa, he buries his head into his father’s chest, and with his small hands, he pats grandpa’s shoulder like a grown-up. Walking behind the two of them, I saw grandpa’s face gently leaning against Augu’s. His white hair and Augu’s golden hair formed such a beautiful contrast. It was incredibly touching.
I couldn’t help but wonder—what will it look like a year or two from now when the baby is with his grandparents again? When he grows up and sees these photos of himself at one year old with his grandparents, will he be moved?

Either way, I was already moved just being there.
